New Moon in Aries, Full Moon in Scorpio: #mars

The new moon on 16° Aries was April 7, real early in the am. I happened to wake up and wonder when it would be, and when I looked it up, it was happening right then. It was before 6 am. Anyway.

New moons are when the moon is not reflecting the sun’s light, and they are considered to be in the same sign. It’s a time to set new goals because it’s a new cycle of energy. Some astrologers say it’s when we’re most primal because our inner world/emotions/reactions (moon) has not yet been illuminated by our consciousness/awareness/ego (sun). I like to think of it like natural progressions, cycles of regeneration where the energy is expressed in the houses of the chart. For instance, this new moon happened in my 1st House, so it’s a new cycle of awareness in terms of my own independent physical energy, presence and vitality.

The new moon in Aries is about new beginnings. Aries is the first sign, and in western/tropical zodiac always begins on the first day of spring. This is the energy that pushes a little seed to sprout, the spark of divine fire (Aries’ element) that gives life to us all. So the focus through this moon cycle is very much about the “I Am” (Aries’ motto). It’s a new phase of personal energy. Depending on where this lands in your chart, for example, if this was in your 8th house, you might be thinking about how your personal energy meshes with those closest to you, how do you exert your will in close, bonded relationships? If it’s in your 6th, you might be wondering if your job is feeling right, or maybe that you need to take care of your health and diet in a different way.

This isn’t the kind of new beginning that feels like the end of something else. This new moon in Aries is all about you, and things that are exciting and new for you. It’s definitely very close to Uranus who has been camped out there for a couple years, and will be there for awhile. Uranus is the Awakener, so these new impulses have am electric quality. They are sudden and epiphany-ish. It’s not comfy-cozy. If you know who you are and what you’re fighting for-all Aries stuff-then you might have a jolt of lightning behind your actions, things might spring up quickly. You might be able to advance your ideas to the future. If you are not sure who you are or where you are headed, I think Uranus might have some surprises for you. You gonna get WOKE THE F#^! UP. Uranus won’t let you stay in a place that’s not working for you, so you might be busting out of other people’s ideas of who you are. Go with it, man.

Another thing I’m thinking about with this Aries new moon is that Mars is about to go retrograde. Mars is the ruling planet of Aries, so they stay connected. Mars in the chart represents fight, flight or f#^!, it’s how we express aggression and lust and how we go get what we want. I think this new moon cycle for us all is about realigning with the true “I Am.” We might have a plethora of new ideas, but with Mars slowing down and going back, we might feel stifled or thwarted when we try to direct action toward an intention. This will force a careful reflection of what we really want and HOW we go about getting it. I’m also wondering if everyone will feel like everyone else is stepping on each other’s toes.

So that’s neat. A new impulse of electric energy. Who is “I Am”?

Then the other side of this moon cycle is the full moon in Scorpio. This is kinda crazy because both Aries and Scorpio are traditionally ruled by Mars, but it’s different kinds of expression. Aries will get hot-headed in your face and be very outwardly open about things while Scorpio will be less reactive while plotting revenge years down the line. Different sides of Mars. In more recent times, Pluto has been given co-rulership of Scorpio, which has to do with regeneration, long-term decay and regrowth, and the merging of different entities into one. Both signs are about new beginnings, but Scorpio must pass through death to be reborn. And unlike Aries, which is all about “me,” Scorpio is all about “us.”

The full moon in Scorpio happens April 22, and I believe it’s 2°. The full moon is when our inner world is fully conscious of itself, it’s when the light of the sun has shone its stuff into our subconscious. If you took care to plant seeds during the new moon, this is the time those seeds with bear fruit. So the new moon, lay low. Full moon, take charge.

The full moon in Scorpio takes the impulses from the Aries new moon and adds a twist: it’s going to be through those closest to you that you will be able to get what you want for yourself. This is making me ask if your goals are enmeshed with your dearest ones, if those closest to you will help you and vice versa. Scorpio is like Hades and Persephone, so this is like some intense soul-bonding shit. It’s going to be through the actions of others that your goals come to be.

Mars will be retro at that point, so you might also be experiencing a bit of a struggle with your close ones. You both might be at a loss how to have your own agenda within this union where what you share is at the forefront.

This is all I can think of at the moment, and I better post this before my phone deletes everything! Ha.

Thanks for reading and checking out my website and Facebook pagina.

Cheers,

Will

The 1st House

My rising sign is Aries, so the Sun is currently in my 1st House. I thought it would be fun to talk about houses as I’m going through them, and off I go.

In a (western/tropical/circular) chart, your rising sign is the one that cusps the leftmost spoke where it usually says AC. That stands for Ascendant, and it’s portion of the zodiac that was coming over the eastern horizon at the time of your birth (also why the left is called the east portion of your chart, the opposite of looking at a map because you’re looking up-something I read somewhere). And that’s why it’s important to know the exact time of your birth when looking up your chart, because your rising sign and 1st House set up your whole journey through life.

The signs of the zodiac have a natural affinity with the houses. The 1st House and Aries energy are connected, as well as Taurus energy and the 2nd House, and so on through Pisces energy and the 12th House. The signs are how the energy is expressed and the Houses show where in your life you express that energy. Everyone has some expression of all the signs in the zodiac. The amount of planets you have in a certain sign or certain kind of sign will energize and activate those areas of your life in relation to the energy of the planets. The planets are the “Players.” Their placement at the time of our birth endow us with certain superpowers, as I like to think of it, and show us our strengths and weaknesses. The movement of the planets through our houses then energize other areas of our lives. For instance, Saturn returns to the place where we were born around the age of 30 and the midlife crisis around the early 40’s are usually in time with the Uranus being in the opposite place from when we were born.

So!  The Ascendant and the whole 1st House is like Aries’ motto, the great ‘I AM.’ Everything that you think of as being ‘you’ comes from the 1st House. Your personality, physical traits and habits, how you engage conflict or not, your whole concept of yourself. This is usually why people say they aren’t like their Horoscope. The energy you give off one-on-one is coming from your 1st House and is expressed by your Rising Sign. So for example, if you have Venus in your 1st, you are probably very charming and give good first impressions, there might be something very alluring or attractive about your personality, etc. If Saturn is in the 1st, you might feel like your ego is restrained in some way, like you shouldn’t get too big for your britches or something, or it could also mean you are very grounded and structured in your sense of self through trials and learning.

The 1st house is important because it’s how you start off your journey through life and the 12 Houses of the Zodiac. It’s like being a baby and realizing you have toes. I have a body! This is me! Boom! It also tells you which planet is the ruler of your chart, based on your Ascendant. Mine is Aries, so the ruler of my chart is the planet Mars. Mars becomes a touchstone in reading my chart, because it is connected to my 1st House, my body, myself. The aspects, some astrologers like to say ‘conversations,’ that other planets make to my ruling planet Mars show where energy flows freely or is bound and distressed in my chart. Your ruling planet shows major drives and possibilities for you to explore in your life.

So let’s say you have a bunch of planets in your first house. A grouping of three or more planets in a house or sign is called a stellium. There are points on the chart like the Ascendant, that can also be grouped into stelliums. When a stellium occurs, the planets involved all become fused and the energies of the planets become indistinguishable. If your Sun and Moon are in the 1st, creating a stellium with your Ascendant, you are very consciously and emotionally aware of yourself. Your outer and internal worlds are intertwined with your very identity. A stellium in the 1st could mean you have a powerful charisma and vitality to your presence, it could also show a likeliness to get so caught up in yourself that you have a hard time seeing other people’s viewpoints. The 1st House is all about you.

Since the Sun has been in my 1st House (since March 22), I’ve noticed a couple of things. I’m not as soupy as I was in the 12th house, and less apt to second-guess myself. The Sun loves to be in the 1st House because it shines its vitality into your personal being. Our awareness and energy get a boost of life-force. I’ve felt more grounded and in tune with my Aries Rising energy, ready for anything and itching to start. On the flip side, I have realized the force behind my personality comes out in a warlike, Aries/Mars way since the Sun has been up in there. I was having a conversation with some friends recently, and me not thinking, shouted out everything my loud mouth could think of. Next thing I know, everyone was withdrawing from me and one friend even left. My outburst had extra oomph behind it, and without realizing how much fire/Aries/Mars I was putting out, I kinda burned everyone. So that has been making me think about ways to use that energy in constructive ways, rather than just lashing out.

What is the I AM? It’s all in the 1st House.

Cheers,

Will

P.s. if I think of more stuff, I’ll add on.

P.p.s. I’m also going to be recommending resources for you to look at if you want more astro info.

A book I really connected with at the beginning of my journey was Sextrology by Starsky & Cox. Fun and relatable with a bit of scandalousness on the side, it breaks down all 12 signs by gender. Really a breakthrough for me in terms of thinking about how different zodiac energies express themselves.

New Moon in Capricorn

The new moon is a time to look at new goals over the next month. The earth comes between the sun and moon, and the moon goes dark in the earth’s shadow. The sun and moon are said to be joined, the convergence of the masculine and feminine giving birth to a new moon cycle. This time they come together in the sign of Capricorn.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. In traditional astrology, it’s considered the ‘dark sun,’ the opposite point to both the sun and moon, the ‘luminaries.’ It’s the last of the planets you can see with the naked eye, and because of its distance, it’s the dimmest. It was called the Great Malefic, and its placement in the chart was said to cause illness, breakdowns and bad luck. In contemporary astrology, it’s thought of more as the great teacher, placing obstructions in our path to elevate us through trials and building character. The Saturn Return, around the age of 30, it’s a crucial time where folks either delve into life lessons and transcend or run away and continue the trials until they are faced.

Which brings us to the keyword of anything having to do with Capricorn energy: responsibility. We either take responsibility or avoid it. Rules are there for a reason. Structure exists to refine form. Under Sagittarius, we grow, exponentially. But we can’t just expand. We have to set limits so we can define goals. That’s what Capricorn is about, reigning things in so that they are manageable and able to be realized.

Capricorn’s association with Saturn also puts an emphasis on longevity and time-honored tradition. Structures exist because they are proven to work. Caps tend to enjoy ‘old-timey’ stuff, alluding to a classier time gone by.

It’s animal totem is the sea-goat, a creature who can swim to the deepest depths of the waters (emotional power, can cause Caps to get pulled down by depression) but who can also nimbly skip to the highest peaks of the mountains. They are wont to achieve, and will always move forward, even if it’s two steps forward, one step back. Though they usually plan ahead so well they don’t experience the setbacks other, less calculating signs might. Cap is the cardinal earth sign, an initiator and organizer of the highest order, they will take all the practical action needed to accomplish a goal. It’s my feeling that they are the most likely to actually complete a goal out of the cardinal signs, though others might set out to begin more. They also might take it to the extreme and be SUPER micro-managey.

Earth energy has to do with the body, real world sensations and experiences. So while these folks are usually very concerned with their appearance in the world (in association with the 10th house of public life), they usually know very much how to enjoy their senses in ways that other signs might be afraid to try. I’ve never met a Cap that wasn’t a secret freak in the sheets;)

So, anyway, whatever, the Capricorn New Moon! This is a time to start plans (cardinal) toward a practical (earth) goal that has to do with your public self or worldly standing (10th house). This is a time to evaluate your responsibilities. What is helping you climb the Capricorn mountain? What is dragging you down to the depths of the sea? This isn’t the time to worry about your immediate surroundings and comforts (Taurus), or your actual work and day to day activities (Virgo). This is the time to work toward your career and long-term ambitions. Don’t worry about fighting this battle, focus on winning the war. Plant seeds to this effect and over the next month, the power of the Leo full moon will help to give the personal power and confidence to take action. The placement of the new moon in your chart will tell you in what area of your life to focus this energy (and I can tell you in a reading, wink wink:)

Other major influences on this new moon include conjuncting the current Mercury Retrograde, which I touched on in a previous post. Everything I said about the new moon comes under more scrutiny because everything seems backward right now. Our thinking and communication is turned inward, it seems we’re having trouble getting our point across right now, maybe. Is what you think you want really what you want, or is it just what you want right now? Think about the future and what is going to get you to where you want to go, not just what you need right now. Right now is temporary, try to see past what might seem like insurmountable odds (thanks Saturn influence).

The new moon is also conjunct Pluto, which digs up old secrets and encourages transformation through letting go of old things. Release will be a big element of this moon phase. What is holding you back? You can’t reach out for new stuff if your cold, dead hands are clutching onto the past. Let go and let yourself become reborn through Pluto’s transformational power.

The new moon is also square to Uranus in Aries. This tension between our awareness and the “Awakener” in the sign of the self is pushing us forward. We won’t be content with things as they’ve been going, and we’ll break out of the mold. I know a bunch of folks who have changed jobs, or just quit because it wasn’t working for them right now. Go with it! Break out of what isn’t working for you. This will help us with Pluto’s call to change.

It isn’t all bad news right now, though. We’ve got a trine to Jupiter in Virgo going on, which will give ease and blessings if we stick to the ever-expanding details. Depending on who you ask, both God and the Devil are in the details, and right now it’ll be if you’re paying attention to them or not. Those pesky, mundane trifles should be our stepping stones to the future we seek, and right now those seemingly innocuous things are going to get us there. Nothing is too small to notice if we’re trying to take on the big picture.

Cheers,

Will

Mercury Rx in Cap Shadow Zone

Today we enter the shadow zone for the upcoming Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn. The shadow zone is the area that Mercury will back up over, so we will hit this area at about 15° Cap three times. What happens today will resonate again Jan 23 during the retrograde, and Jan 29 after Mercury stations direct.

This blurb is more to talk about the dates and general vibe, I’ll describe how the retrograde will affect each sign later. We enter the shadow today, right on top of Pluto. Mercury will hit 1° Aquarius on Jan 5, and the retrograde will last until Jan 24, again at 15° Cap conjuct Pluto. Mercury will exit the shadow zone at 2° Aquarius on Feb 16.

Mercury is the planet of intellect, communication and some say, media. It shows us how we think, use words and absorb information.

Capricorn key words are responsibility, tradition and durability. The Cap association with the 10th house puts a spotlight on public life, career and ambition.

My feeling is that this Mercury Rx will have us thinking about the responsibilities we’ve taken on. The Rx’s last year were all in air signs, so it was a lot of talking and dealing with relationships. This Rx, not so much. Well be thinking about foundations for our lives, what has longevity and what has played out its course. We’ll be thinking about work, and whether it’s working for us. Thoughts of how we play our part on the world stage, our image, will be brought to the front.

Another element in play is that Mercury will be passing over Pluto, just as it’s conjunct today. Pluto is the planet of deep transformation, phoenix from the ashes and all that. It’s destructive power wants us to tear things down so new things can bloom. It’s a sexy planet, so we might be feeling the natural urges, especially in the horny sign of Cap. Pluto is associated with Hades and Persephone, so power struggles might be present in the areas mentioned above. Mercury is quick and out in the open, Pluto is buried deep in the dark, molten earth. What Mercury unearths might be startling.

The Sun will pass over Mercury Rx on Jan 14 and 15, so we might get really aware of all the action going on these days. Things might be pulled to our attention that we hadn’t noticed before.

Expect changes this Mercury Rx. Going over Pluto 3x won’t let us escape without leaving something behind. Mercury will be pulling things up from under that we might rather have been left buried. I’m thinking a lot of skeletons will be popping up out of a lot of closets. Roll with it, fighting the transformation will make it harder.

Cheers,

Will

New Moon in Sagittarius

The new moon in Sagittarius comes on December 11. New moons are a time for creating fresh energy, focusing your intention to make things happen over the next month. It’s a time to conserve energy, rather than take action. Laying low and really figuring out what you want to accomplish will help as you take action on the next full moon.

Sagittarius is the sign of philosophy, travel, religion, justice, higher learning and truth. Sag follows its own path, and it doesn’t give a shit what others have to say about it. Whereas its opposite sign Gemini wants to talk it out, Sagittarius wants to take action. It’s the mutable fire sign, fire symbolizing spirit energy in the zodiac, the divine spark that animates us. Sagittarius is especially tuned into the spirit, it’s ruling planet of Jupiter expands the mind and keeps their laser-like focus on the stars. Sag people are known for being high-minded, they have a higher perspective on life. The mutable quality responds to their environment, these people are able to adapt to any situation and are highly mentally active.

The new moon occurring at 19 degrees invites us to start off on that higher path toward our own truth. This isn’t a time to ask your partners, friends, family or whoever what they think is right. Only you can decide that, and the things you come up with on this new moon will lead you in the right direction. No one can speak your truth for you, and reflecting on it at this time will empower you to develop right action through the next month. Following your truth can be difficult, especially if you’ve been in a habit of allowing other people to be a part of your decision making processes. This is the time where we have a new start, a new chance to make our philosophy a reality.

The new moon occurs in the second decan of Sag, which is ruled by Mars. This will give extra force of will behind what we want to do right now. Keywords for this decan are pioneer, adventurer, and innovator. As I said in my video regarding Saturn’s transit in Sag, this decan can make us want to fight, and possibly go to war. I think at a lower vibration, we will see more xenophobia and harsh rhetoric toward foreigners. Hopefully we’ll find the higher vibration collectively and transcend all that kind of thing. Sag’s higher truth is higher than petty squabbles and differences.

Some interesting things happening now include Uranus over there camped out in Aries around 16 degrees. This makes a trine, or harmonious influence, to our new moon, and this gives a big electric jolt. Uranus is called the Awakener, and whatever he touches gets zapped. Things might happen unexpectedly as we start off on this new journey, and it might be OURSELVES that surprises us, since Uranus is in the sign of the “I Am.” We might find that we break down any walls we had internally, and to that I say GO FOR IT. This jolt could be the thing we need to get started on that road to higher truth. Be warned, it could be shocking.

I never want to say how things will suck, but honestly our personal one-on-one relationships might be taking some knocks during this time. First of all, Mars, the sign of passions, anger, lust and pure willpower is in its detriment in the sign of Libra. Mars is all about what we want as individuals, and in the sign of relationships that can cause friction. Mars is weakened here because our directive will might not be in tune with those around us. This lines up with the new moon. Maybe if we don’t try so hard to influence the people around us, we can focus on ourselves for a minute.
Mars is also opposite Uranus-I predict a lot of fighting…sorry. It might be a balance of how we are bursting out of our shells and how that affects our relationships.
Mars and Uranus are both square, or disharmonious to Pluto in Capricorn, creating a harsh aspect called a T-square. The things occurring within us and within our relationships will cause some kind of transformation in our public persona, how we are seen in the world at large. Pluto is power struggles, maybe these changes are at work.
Similar T-squares have been happening over the last few months, but this with Mars and Uranus has the potential to be quite violent and disruptive. Careful out there.

Venus is in the sign of Scorpio, also in its detriment. Venus is all about love, attraction, values and pleasures, and Scorpio is all about transformation, deep regeneration, what is shared and soul unions. Venus here will give depth to our emotions and make us appreciate intense encounters and people. It’s also very sexy, and makes us want to always go deeper…if you know what I mean. Don’t lose yourself in someone else right now, even though it might be tempting. It might not necessarily last, with the trine to Neptune in Pisces dissolving our boundaries. That aspect can also make us quite psychic, so trust yourself. But again, in line with the new moon, follow your own path.

Mercury has entered Capricorn, so our minds might take a more practical bent. Get ready for the retrograde in January.

Cheers,
Will

Saturn square Neptune

Saturn is the planet of reality, rules and restriction. He sets the boundaries. In Sagittarius, he is emphasizing the importance of refining belief systems, as well as testing foreign borders.

Neptune is at home in the sign it rules, Pisces. Neptune and Pisces are about tuning into the higher powers that be, tapping into the universal consciousness. The way this happens is the opposite of Saturn: Neptune dissolves all boundaries, like we all come from the sea and return to it when we die (in the watery womb and through decomposition).

These two planets create a square, which is exact today. A square is a challenging aspect where things don’t flow freely, there is friction. This can cause us all sorts of headaches, trying to reconcile energies that just can’t seem to figure their shit out. It can also be incredibly motivating, calling elements in our lives to attention by putting a fire under our ass, as it were.

Right now it seems like the more we try to get a grasp on what’s happening, the answers slip through our fingers. Our belief systems are at odds with what the universe is trying to tell us. I’m thinking of all the violence going on in America, where we have had more mad shootings than days this year. Globally, people are being told that war is inevitable in the wake of the Paris attacks. Folks are being told that they are not ‘patriotic’ if they don’t support war.

Two things about this: Sag Saturn is looking for a higher truth, and it seems like causing restrictions from foreign places, like folks being up in arms about refugees, is the answer. This energy is speaking to that. In my opinion, that is the low vibration, missing the opportunity within the struggle going on now. And Saturn always brings a struggle. On a high vibe, Sag Saturn is pushing us to transcend. This stuff happening on a large scale is also happening personally. I’ve observed lots of folks experiencing a crisis of faith, seeing things from viewpoints they had not considered before.

The other thing is that with all this testing of beliefs is that the square is pushing up on Neptune, which doesn’t get pushed against: Neptune dissolves. Neptune is on a low vibe where we delude ourselves. Where we are trapped by illusions. This square is highlighting something about world and personal events that is very important. It’s vitally important that we aren’t swept away in the watery depths of delusion. We need to find solid paths to higher consciousness. Being diluted by fear will lead us to ruin. Right now is not the time to leap to conclusions. We may think we know what is going on, but time will reveal Neptune’s deceptions.

Things seem very hard right now, like we’re under a tidal wave of events over which we have no control, especially with the moon (emotions) being in an exact t-square opposite Neptune. This is Neptune’s tsunami slamming down on the mountain of Saturn. Don’t get swept away in fear and delusion. Keep your eyes clear and head for higher ground.

New Moon in Libra

Oh hey,

So the new moon in Libra signifies a time for renewing relationships. It occurred Monday night around 19° (it’s Wednesday now and the moon is in my natal Scorpio, maybe why I feel like I am getting caught up enough to catch up).

Libra is the first sign of the zodiac to say “we are” rather than “I am.” Democracy and diplomacy are Libran ideals. Unlike Aries, who has a one-track mind in ramming down their own goals, Libra looks to the ‘other’ to get things done. This is connected to Jung’s idea of shadow, what is “you” and not “me.”

Libra is an air sign, having to do with mental energy and communication. It’s cardinal, or an initiator. Unlike Gemini, which is about expression and interplay between people and Aquarius, which is about relating to groups and mankind at large, Libra is about personal relationships. Any bond you enter one-on-one is Libra energy.

The symbol of Libra is the Scales, the only inanimate representation in the zodiac. It has to do with balance and harmony. They are very aware of the people around them, and can be artfully diplomatic and tactful. It also has to do with aesthetics and beauty, being ruled by the planet Venus. Its opposite sign of Aries can be much more ascetic, not necessarily caring what things look like, as long as they’re functional. Libra is definitely form over function. It’s the sign of the arts and inspiration from Apollo and the muses. Apollo is not the god of the sun, but rather of light itself, and what Libra touches becomes beautiful. When Apollo danced with the muses, he took on a more feminine form, and Libras of both sexes can be quite intriguingly androgynous, though always rather stunning. They have great smiles. As Starsky and Cox point out in their book Sextrology, Libra men are trying to balance the scales within, while Libra women are balancing the scales of the world around them.

Other shoe dropping, Libra can be quite shallow, only caring about what the light touches, staying on the surface. Deep, dark scary investigation falls under the following sign of Scorpio, which wants to get to the bottom, the core of any issue, while Libra would rather keep the peace. They can also be waaay indecisive, teetotaling everything placed on the scales. I’ve noticed there are two kinds of Libra: the peacekeepers and the shitstorms. They have to find balance, even if that means throwing you off of yours.

So what does this new moon mean? It means planting seeds within our relationships that will develop into personal value during the next full moon in Taurus. This lunation is significant especially coming out of the lunar eclipse in Aries (last of the Blood Moon tetrad) and the recent Mercury retrograde in Libra because it’s a fresh start, a reset button within our personal relationships. We’ve had the chance to reevaluate how we communicate and express ourselves within our relationships, and now we are seeing things with fresh eyes. This new moon gives new light, and the next month will be a revelation to many of us who expect things to be a certain way between us and our others.

The new moon happens opposite Uranus in Aries, where we are waking up to who we are as individuals. This Libra energy could be quite different for us, because who we are within ourselves is radically changing. So it’s the pull between “F#<! off, I gotta do me" and "We got this." It can be shocking, with electric Uranus shaking things up. Uranus can make us uncomfortable because the changes he brings are so jarring. But when we realize that those molds breaking are in our favor, it's easier to lean into the changes. Just another dynamic of the Aries (self) and Libra (other) axis that's been playing out over the last two years with the Blood Moon Tetrad. We are electric, and our relationships are renewed. The next chapter is up to you!

Libra kicks off the fall season in the northern hemisphere. The time of reaping the Virgoan harvest, the earth preparing for its Scorpion sleep. My goals within this new moon are finding the balance of personal needs and the needs of others. I'm also invested in surrounding myself with pleasing environs, noticing the leaves change color and all the nuances of the beauty of fall. This is a time for appreciation, taking note of what, and especially WHO, contributes to my world and to my sense of self. 'Working on relationships' seems too broad, so I'll be making phone calls and checking up in a more mindful way than I normally do. And I might just start those gym and nutrition goals from the last new moon in Virgo;)

Please get in touch for a reading to find out where these events play out in your chart.

Cheers!

‘As above, so below’ or what?

Why astrology?

It’s much less arbitrary than a lot of other practices. The astronomy involved is science, astrology is its poetry.

You can see cycles and patterns unfolding in your life. Nature’s clockwork.

One of the phrases you hear a lot in astrology is ‘as above, so below.’ This implies that what goes on in the heavens is reflected here on earth, that the unfolding of the relationships of the stars and planets impacts mundane life. Like I say in the video, we know the moon affects the tide, how do we know the stars don’t influence our lives? And on the other hand, what if by associating meaning to the stars, we can gain insight to the patterns and passage of time we experience? As below, so above?

When you look at the systems and layers it makes a complicated, contradictory mess of sense. Just like us.

Cheers,
Will
