Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and Taurus 5/10-6/3

Hi again,

I’m calling this one Groundhog Day!!!

Here’s a writeup reference for the dates:

-4/27: Mercury enters shadow zone at 26° Taurus

-5/10: Mercury stations retrograde at 4° Gemini

-6/3: Mercury stations direct at 26° Taurus

-6/19: Mercury exits shadow zone at 4° Gemini

This shift will echo the Eclipse season and nodes changing from Gemini to Taurus in January. In short, misinformation leading bad policy. But in a month long microcosm of the last two years.

We’re headed into the BA.2 wave, deaths will be spiking in 2 to 3 weeks. I’m leaving a bunch of info here, please mask up and stay safe!!

Full Moon In Taurus 11/19 and Eclipses!

Hello,

The Full Moon In Taurus is exact at 1.57am MST, with a 2.03am exact Partial Lunar Eclipse, at 27 Taurus. This is the height of activity for intentions set at the New Moon In Scorpio on 11/4, and winding down at the next New Moon In Sagittarius on 12/4.

Taurus is the sign of value and possessions. Self-esteem, how we value ourselves. And also as the first earth sign, it signifies what we do. What actions we take and what we create. Taurus’ fertile earth energy brings blossoms and Venus-ruled grace where it lands in the birth chart.

During this lunation we will be conscious of worth. Have the changes we’ve been making add value to what we’re trying to do? I think also as a part of the Scorpio New Moon cycle, this time will make us think about what we ourselves are bringing to the table. What is OUR worth? Are we fulfilling that and bringing it to the table?

I think this time will also highlight the various strikes and wage situations going on right now. Am I being paid what I’m worth?

This full moon will also be the first eclipse in Taurus and Scorpio that will last through Summer 2023. They have been along Gemini and Sagittarius since the beginning of 2020, but now the north node is shifting and will be from Gemini into Taurus on 1/18/22. That means that the energy we’re carrying through this Full Moon In Taurus cycle will reverberate through the next six months to a year.

What do you want to build that wasn’t there before? You couldn’t build this new thing if that old structure was still standing.

Cheers,

Will

North Node in Taurus 1/18/22

Hello,

The North Node will shift from Gemini into Taurus at 11.20am MST 1/18/22, and transit the sign until shifting into Aries at 1.46pm MDT on 7/17/23.

Here’s a list of the times the North Node has been in Taurus during the last century:

  • 1/18/22 – 7/17/23
  • 4/13/03 – 12/26/04
  • 9/11/84 – 4/6/86
  • 2/9/66 – 8/19/67
  • 8/2/47 – 1/25/49
  • 12/28/28 – 7/7/30
  • 3/23/10 – 12/7/11

Taurus is the sign of Value. And when the North Node is in a sign, that’s what we are in the process of learning. Common themes in history looking back on these dates include technological/medical breakthroughs, labor strikes and pay movements, human and civil rights milestones, the formation and dissolution of countries (borders in particular), as well as record-breaking natural disasters.

Coming from the mutable air node of Gemini, or changeable information, the Taurus North Node requires stability and concrete development. In this fixed earth sign, things that have been ideas until now can become a product or policy. Breakthroughs in genetics have heralded the last recurrences of this transit, with the Human Genome Project in 2003 and DNA “finger printing” in the 80s with public knowledge of the AIDS crisis. Pluto was discovered while the North Node was in Taurus, as well as neon lighting and superconductivity. Color TV and Talkies were each developed in their respective eras, developments of past transits from Gemini communication to Taurus creation North Node.

North Node in Taurus also brings social and political developments. It seems to me like these times are eras of progressive change and conservative reaction. We’re already looking at huge labor strikes as we approach the eclipses changing on the 19th, like the Coal Miners’ Strike in the 80s. Civil rights advances such as Loving v Virginia and Shelley v Kramer happened in their respective times during Taurus North Node. The Black Panthers were established during this transit. The Geneva Convention was established around the time of Gandhi’s 200-mile march. While in America the Freedom of Information Act was being established, China was beginning its Cultural Revolution. In an earlier time, America was facing the HUAC Blacklist, and in an earlier time the Motion Picture Code was established. In the early 20th century, the Standard Oil Antitrust suits broke up monopolies (Jims the camera).

This could really be true of any time, but I noticed a lot of record-breaking natural disasters happening during the North Node in Taurus. Also things like aircraft and spacecraft explosions. Heat waves, earthquakes, typhoons, you name it. The Great Fire of 1910 destroyed the Pacific Northwest, basically. The Earth sign of Taurus bout to explode some South Node Scorpio on our asses.

There’s also memorialization that happens during this time. About a hundred years ago, the Academy Awards were established under this influence. The Titanic was launched during this time. Kwanzaa was created during this time. We want to name things in definition during this transit, unlike the flighty and perhaps misleading Gemini North Node transit.

Countries also form or dissolve under this influence, notably India gaining independence from Britain around the same time as Israel is established as a state.

Check out this here video for more of me talking about this:

New Moon In Scorpio 11/4

Hi y’all,

Tomorrow’s new moon is exact at 3.15pm MDT (Daylight Savings ends this Sunday!) at 12° Scorpio. This is the time to set new intentions dealing with release. Out with the old, in with the new. Leaves are falling in the northern hemisphere and winter is on its way.

Today (Wed 3) Mercury exits the shadow of Mercury Retrograde in Libra. We are able to move on to new topics and ideas, and into new territory of communication, likely deepening connections or intensity as Mercury zips through Scorpio through November 24. Mercury will enter Scorpio on Friday at 4.35pm MDT, preceded by Venus at 4.44am. All this Scorpio energy building up at this time seems like an invitation to make changes and let go of what’s not growing anymore. Because!…

The full moon in Taurus on November 9 will also be a Partial Solar Eclipse, changing the eclipses through summer of ’23. The actions of this month will echo through the next six months to a year or through next spring and fall’s eclipses. Wherever Taurus lands in your chart will be getting an overhaul over the next year or so.

Then right before the next New Moon In Sagittarius on 12/4, the outer generational planet Neptune will station direct. This watery spiritual delusional soupy love art magic planet is retrograde about half the year and will be direct through next summer. Because its cycles are so huge I generally don’t look too closely at Neptune, but stationing direct at this time might have effects. Like maybe weird dreams, or being overwhelmed by emotional stimuli, or suddenly being swept away in a current. Neptune dissolves and brings everything back to the ocean again, so wherever 20° Pisces is in your chart you might be feeling things, and not knowing where it came from. Just like this moon cycle, keep breathing and release.

Cheers,

Will

Here’s some thoughts about thoughts, metaphysics, philosophy, and timelines. Good luck lol

Here’s the dates and times if these are relevant to your own timeline.

•Full Moon in Sag/Total Lunar Eclipse 5/26
•New Moon in Gem/Nontotal Solar Eclipse lol 6/10
•Eclipse Season happens twice a year and slowly rotates with the nodes
•The North Node is where the moon crosses earth in front, South Node where it crosses in the back, and they rotate with the eclipses
•All this Gemini energy with Mercury Retrograde in Gemini coming! lol get your mind right and get ready for the gaslighting

It’s Super, It’s Blue, It’s Blood-It’s the Full Moon in Leo 1/31

Hey ho,

So let’s just jump right into the hype! It happens Wednesday, January 31 at 6.27-6.30ish AM MST. This rare series of events with this moon hasn’t been seen for 150 years. But what does it mean?

SUPER-This means that the moon is in its perigee, the time in its orbit that it’s closest to the earth. It will appear slightly larger than at other times, and this happens for about three of the twelve yearly moon cycles.

BLUE-This means that two full moons happen in the same calendar month. The previous full moon was in Cancer on New Year’s. It doesn’t turn blue. Actually…

BLOOD-This is the part where the eclipse comes into play. Since the earth will pass between the sun and moon, it’s shadow will fall over the moon at this time it would normally appear full. It’s ‘blood’-like qualities have to do with only certain wavelengths of color hitting the moon as it passes through the earth’s umbra (full shadow). It’ll be dark, but not like a new moon, and I’m thinking rusty-colored. Hence, blood. The eclipse makes it dark.

So! The moon is closer to the earth-just as it pulls on the tides, it has greater sway on our emotions. Two full moons this month means that a lot of stuff is going on-busy busy busy! And the eclipse energy brings us back to the dark-the subconscious, the primal, the reactive, instinctual nature. Whereas the full moon usually shines a light inside, now we are invited to take all that energy inward.

The significance of eclipses comes in the area of your chart it occurs. Where this takes place will stimulate changes, either through a crisis which causes response or a reevaluation as subconscious thoughts come to the top. Solar eclipses last six months to a year, and lunar eclipses three to six months. They are good markers for times of change in your life, I think of them as a doorway you walk through and evaluate on the other side. (Get in touch to get a reading!)

A full moon is the time to reap the harvest of what has been grown and developed since the the seeds were planted during the previous new moon (in the link I also mention the New Year Cancer Full Moon). In this case, it has to do with how we are developing our legacy. What are we doing to playfully create the path before us?

The eclipses are connected cyclically with the moon’s nodes, and I spoke about this year’s passage of the north node through Leo here. Because this full moon and eclipse take place at 11° Leo, conjunct the north node at 14° Leo, this will be a critical stepping stone during this year of self-empowerment and discovery. Are we really having fun doing this risk-taking and reevaluating stimulated by the solar eclipse at 28° Leo last summer? We might not necessarily feel like the Lion roaring, the energy of this eclipse might feel like foreign territory. We might have to take leaps without a net. The north node is what we don’t know, what we have to develop. But it’s what we need to learn right now. And truly, your heart, your deepest, most personal knowing place will tell you the right answers. Let your light shine, because the dark is calling. This is where we learn what our roaring means.

Remember that eclipses happen pretty much twice a year-since January last year they’ve been in Leo/Aquarius. This means that these eclipses are stimulating changes in the ways that we step into personal power and creativity (Leo) and how that relates to our networks and humanity at large – people power (Aquarius). I would say the US where I live has been seeing that in many ways-how do I relate to what’s going on with everyone else right now? Do I see myself as separate from ‘them?’ This summer they will start shifting into Cancer and Capricorn-which means next time it’s personal AND it’s business.

Shawn that I work with at the Golden Braid Bookstore says that eclipses are always positive events. And I dig that a lot. Make sure you are making the time to do what you love, and that it is in line with your overall plans. If you’re not having fun, this is the time to acknowledge it and drop it. And since this rare occurrence happens in the dramastic sign of Leo, always get ready for some drama fantastique!

Cheers,

Will

Eclipse Reflections while Mercury Stations Direct

Hey hey hey,

Early this morning, Mercury stopped retrograding and stationed direct. That means it slowed down and will appear to be at the same point in the sky until it moves from 28 to 29 degrees of Leo. Mercury is the planet of intellect and expression and when it retrogrades, communication gets wonky. As I mentioned, it backed up exactly to the point where the Solar Eclipse took place on August 21 and will stay there til this Friday, September 8. This means we will be processing the information and changes sparked by the eclipse, that had been building up since Mercury started this process by passing over 28 degrees Leo on July 25.

First of all, the eclipse was the second new moon in Leo this year! For me what this says is that whatever was trying to spark on a personal, creative, playful heart level was trying to really get the fire going. New moons are when the sun and moon are in the same place in the sky, and the metaphorical joining of the masculine and feminine. It represents a birth, giving a new impulse through the next moon cycle until the sun and moon join again. This year’s rare total solar eclipse was a new moon that was a beginning for not only this next month, but a seed planted for the next six months to a year. Meaning that a big part of this next year (which also follows the north node in Leo…more on that later:) is about having fun and taking festive risks, following heart-level impulses and actively pursuing happiness.

So the idea is to gather your wits and process the eclipse through this next week until the 8th, when things will be moving forward with more ease. Mercury moves into its home sign of Virgo again on September 9, and all the details of our big new Leo heart-level dreams won’t seem so overwhelming. It will exit the shadow zone (the place it started to retrograde in the first place) at 11 degrees Virgo around September 20 and we will then feel more or less resolved and able to move into new territory. This will be a great month to start making little tasks out of big plans, making lists, shopping around, comparing notes and getting all the nitty gritty handled. These little things you do now will actually be big helps to you later, even if it seems trifling or nitpicky at the time.

Total eclipses bring big changes, usually by expressing as a crisis or moment of extreme attention in an area of your life. Now that Mercury Retrograde is over, I am going to quickly break down where this eclipse might have sparked a new torch in your longing heart (if you know your rising sign:):

  • 1st House (likely Leo Rising): This year is a whole new you! The first house represents the self, and you are probably feeling a burst of energy from within yourself. Trust yourself, trust your heart. The crisis of eclipse might be manifesting as an identity crisis. Maybe who you were isn’t who you feel like now. Get in touch with yourself! You have a spotlight on you now, step into it.
  • 2nd House (likely Cancer Rising): This year is all about new fortunes! The second house represents our value system, and as an earth-aligned house represents health and wealth. Spend this year creating, and be sure of your own worth. The crisis of this eclipse might come through as something related to income, or even as depression/feelings of worthlessness. Use the eclipse energy to flip the script!
  • 3rd House (likely Gemini Rising): This year is all about information! The third house represents communication, and that means you’ll likely be meeting and talking with a lot of new people. Put yourself out there, and bring people into your circle. The eclipse crisis comes to you through overload, so don’t hurt yourself. Make sure you’re taking the time to make conscious choices in the madness.
  • 4th House (likely Taurus rising): This year gives a new depth to your soul! The fourth house represents the inner world as well as home environment, meaning that you might be moving sometime in the next year. The eclipse is shining its crisis from deep within you, and you might only now be aware of its subconscious power. You will want to see these inner changes reflected in the place that you live.
  • 5th House (likely Aries Rising): This year is all about your heart’s journey. The fifth house represents creativity, pleasure, and personal authority. Wherever your heart pulls you this year, you are likely to have a blast doing it! The eclipse might bring this to your attention by asking you if your heart is really what you are doing. If not, now is the time to find and follow that spark to ignite it.
  • 6th House (likely Pisces Rising): This year is all about how you are getting it done. The sixth house represents the body, work, and habits/routines which means you might be finding new employment! You will want to work smarter and not harder. This eclipse placement might bring a health crisis, so pay attention to detail and take care of yourself first. Making lists, check ’em twice. Quit smoking!
  • 7th House (likely Aquarius Rising): This year is all about the people in your life. The seventh house represents the Other, so the focus won’t be so much on you. Trust others. You’re likely feeling a new surge of energy in your personal relationships, which might be put to the test with this eclipse placement. It’s important to be aware not only of what you give of yourself, but what you receive from others.
  • 8th House (likely Capricorn Rising): This year is all about deep transformation. The eighth house represents shared values and regenerative cycles. This eclipse placement suggests a crisis related to letting go of your old self and becoming something new. You should collaborate deeply with others, and might even possibly gain through offering your support. You won’t recognize yourself after this.
  • 9th House (likely Sagittarius Rising): This year is a new awakening for you. The ninth house represents higher learning, philosophy, religion, as well as travel and foreign places. You will feel a fiery passion to follow your highest truth. Your crisis in this placement might be of faith-make sure you are living according to your own ideals. This year you might also feel the travel bug acutely-hop to!
  • 10th House (likely Scorpio Rising): This year is all about your long-term goals. The tenth house represents public life as well as the course of your life’s events. You will be very aware of your reputation at this time, and will take cares with your legacy. The eclipse here might express through a change in careers or even social status. Use this new energy impulse to turn things around-it’s your life, after all!
  • 11th House (likely Libra Rising): This year is all about a bigger perspective. The eleventh house represents social connection and how we fit into groups. This is your time to shine within your networks. Your eclipse crisis might express through feeling alienated from your social scene, or possibly finding new ones. Hopes and dreams also live here, so use the eclipse energy to lead you to your bright future.
  • 12th House (likely Virgo Rising): This year is all about letting go and connecting to spirit. The twelfth house represents the subconscious, hidden sorrows and enemies, as well as institutions. It may feel like you have to give yourself up for a little while, but if you offer the service freely you will reap the spiritual rewards. Use the energizing eclipse energy to tap directly into Spirit-the channels are open to you.

New Moon in Virgo and Partial Solar Eclipse

Hey everyone!

Big things happening this weekend with the New Moon in Virgo, as well as a partial Solar Eclipse.  This takes place at 12.41am on Sunday, Mountain Standard Time.  I made a video describing these energies, and how they flow from last month here:

Other details pertinent to this transit include the opposition to Chiron at 19° Pisces, which will activate an opportunity for healing.  Chiron is an asteroid/planetoid between Jupiter and Saturn, symbolizing the bridge between past and present, between the waking world and the underworld.  He’s the wounded healer, representing where we have been hurt or where we are incomplete, and conversely, where we can heal others and in doing so, become whole.  In Pisces, this has to do with our subconscious.  The deepest parts of our minds, our connection to the other side, the spiritual energies of the universe, the place where we wash away and become one with creation, is highlighted during this New Moon and partial Solar Eclipse.  We have the opportunity to heal these hurts in our souls, or we run the risk of becoming paralyzed by them and allowing them to take over.  Oppositions are a fine-tuned balance or a tug of war.  Will you hold on to past hurts, or will you become empowered by them?  With Saturn at the last degree of Scorpio (shared values, regeneration, cycles), I would encourage all of us to let go and release these hurts.  This will create the balance we need to integrate Chiron’s healing energy into this new phase of our lives.  Because this Solar Eclipse is opening a portal to new world of our own devising, don’t limit your power during this time. What you feel can be made manifest.

While we have this healing going on, we will need to be aware of Uranus over there at 19° Aries.  This creates what’s called a quincunx, an aspect of 150 degrees to the New Moon.  This is at best…unpredictable.  With Uranus’ M.O. of breaking out and rebelling against the status quo, electrically charging whatever he touches, this New Moon and partial Solar Eclipse can have explosive results.  This could mean you are encountering new ideas or situations that you have no basis of experience with, it could challenge your ideas about who you are.  It’s possible that in delving into the psyche of Chiron/Pisces, you find things that don’t fit with how you now see the world or even yourself. That’s OK! The only constant is change.  And this can quite possibly be a violent change.  Aries is warlike, almost childishly, innocently selfish and with Uranus there supercharging our self-interest, we could be seeing major, jolting changes in the areas of our lives where these things land in our chart.  Chiron/Pisces blends into the next sign of Uranus/Aries, so while these changes might seem incongruent or unexpected, the New Moon/Eclipse/Virgo energies will help actualize and physicalize and realize – in the waking world – the birth of the new energies within you.

Go for it!  Blow stuff up!  Leave it behind you!

A new world is waiting for you.

Cheers,

Will
